Crucial in vertebroplasty is the right tool to deliver cement at a predictable position and in the optimal volume. On behalf and with the help of many physicians MedInvents investigated the design and performance of tools dedicated to vertebroplasty, in particular for use in osteolytic lesions. The NEW Spirotome SPINE™ medical device kit is recognized as a powerful hybrid system that can be applied in the field of vertebroplasty, allowing a safer and more efficient cementing therapy.

Through combination of a direct and frontal soft tissue biopsy system with a Jamshidi type of bone biopsy needle, tunnels can be made from the ‘normal’ bone marrow, over an osteolytic lesion into the distal normal bone marrow. Cement bridges that run from normal bone marrow over osteolytic lesions up to distal normal bone marrow can act as efficient internal structures that prevent collapse of the vertebral body.
